Amazon bids adieu to the world's largest e-commerce market

The world's largest online retailer cut its China e-commerce business.

On April 18th, Amazon said it will close its online store in China by July 18th, it will no longer operate the market for retail, and will not offer seller services on its Chinese website Amazon.cn.

According to the official introduction, Amazon China mainly includes four core strategic businesses: cross-border e-commerce, logistics, Kindle reading, and AWS cloud services. This time, only the personal retail e-commerce business outside the logistics business and core strategy will be affected, while other businesses are operating normally.

When public opinion spreads, the company that made Jeff Bezos the world's richest man seems to have not been affected too much. After Reuters first reported the news, US-listed Alibaba and JD.com shares rose 1%, while Amazon shares closed flat.
